Apple's new iPhones slammed in latest Microsoft ad - CNET

If Nokia's ribbing shortly after Apple's new iPhone unveiling this week weren't enough, Nokia's soon-to-be-parent-company Microsoft is joining the fray.

Microsoft posted a new video Friday morning knocking Apple's new iPhones and poking fun at the new colors as the only innovation.

The video's shot in a rather unusual style that attempts to mimic pitch meetings within Apple's inner confines. Non-speaking characters watching the pitch appear to be Apple's design chief Jony Ive, and another person who might vaguely look like a younger Apple CEO Tim Cook if he were biologically bonded to Google exec Andy Rubin.

The less than two minute video ends with a tagline #timetoswitch, and doesn't show off any Windows Phone devices.

The attack ad is the latest from Microsoft to target Apple's devices. Microsoft's spent the past four months going after the iPad's capabilities, while promoting those found in its Surface tablet as well as other devices running Windows 8. The company is not alone: Google-owned Motorola last week began running ads that target not only the iPhone, but Android too.
