The heavy glass door of an Apple Store near D.C. came loose Monday during the busy pre-Christmas shopping rush and fell onto a passer-by, breaking his pelvis.
The man was sent to a local hospital with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries, said Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesman Scott Graham. The man could not be reached for comment.
He was hurt Monday afternoon as he walked by the store on Bethesda Row. Photos of the incident surfaced on Bethesdanow.com, on photo site Flickr and the sharing site Reddit.
Apple store employees now have that door space blocked.
Apple's public relations office did not return calls for comment.
