Bargain-hunters still have the chance to snap up cheap pre-Christmas deals in this year's Cyber Monday.

Following on from last week's Black Friday, Cyber Monday is again a US concept where shoppers have the oppportunity to pick up discounted gifts as the Christmas buying rush kicks off. Unlike Black Friday, Cyber Monday is an online-only event.

Many UK retailers have jumped on the bandwagon, offering online discounts through the weekend.

Here's a roundup of the best deals we've spotted so far:

Apple

Apple doesn't offer Cyber Monday deals through its online store, meaning Black Friday is the rare time you can pick up iPads and Macs for a little less. The company's only concession to Cyber Monday is free shipping - but keep a lookout for other retailers such as PC World, which have discounts on Apple products.

Amazon

Amazon is offering a range of Christmas deals, rather than dedicated Cyber Monday discounts. The headline deal is £30 off the new 7in Kindle Fire HDX, bringing the 16GB model to £170. It's worth doing a price comparison between retailers, since the same device is £160 from PC World's pre-Christmas sale.

It's also offering a few short-term discounts, or "Lightning Deals".

These change on the hour, with popular items likely to sell out quickly, so it's worth keeping an eye on the site. Today's upcoming tech deals include the Leap Motion controller - though it looks like the waiting list is full.

Discounts are still available on laptops and tablets, many of which are less than £300, including models from Acer and Asus. We'd advise caution on the very cheap, no-brand Android tablets, however. While we haven't tested the specific models listed by Amazon, clearly erroneous specifications such as "AMD Core i3" (they're Intel chips) give us cause for concern.

PC World

PC World kicked off its "Big Christmas Event" last week, encompassing a huge range of tech discounts. The headline price drop is 10% off selected iPad models, which brings the 32GB, Wi-Fi version of Apple's iPad Mini to £287, down from £319. There's also the 16GB model of Amazon's new 7in Kindle Fire HDX on offer for £160, down from £180. PC World has also dropped prices on a wide range of Windows 8 laptops - including £100 off the Sony VAIO Pro 13.

John Lewis

John Lewis has discounted a selection of electrical devices, although there's no dedicated Cyber Monday sale as such.

There's £50 off Samsung's new Galaxy Note 10.1in, bringing the price down to £399.

There's also £30 off the Lenovo IdeaTab S5000, which brings the 7in Android tablet down to £150.

Microsoft

Microsoft is already offering a range of deals for the holiday season, including student discounts on the Surface range. The company has also made reductions on the prices of peripherals, with prices down on a range of keyboards, mice and webcams.

Argos

Argos has a few Cyber Monday deals to interest techies, if pink tabletop fridges aren't your thing. There are SIM-free versions of the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini for £175 - although since it's an older generation device it might be available cheaper elsewhere.

Asda

Asda's knocked prices down on a few tablet models - the best we spotted was £10 off the 7in Asus Fonepad, bringing it to £160.

Other retailers

Adobe is offering 40% off Lightroom and Photoshop Elements.

There's also Dabs, which is running a Christmas store. And gaming company Steam is currently running daily deals on various titles including Skyrim and Civilisation V. Game also has a Cyber Monday sale on, with deals changing on the hour.

Debenhams hasn't got any tech items specifically in its Cyber Monday section, but it is offering a range of Christmas discounts on iPads, laptops, headphones and cameras. There's also a 16GB, fourth-generation iPad with Retina display on offer for £359.
