CUPERTINO, Calif. (KGO) -- A new report suggests Apple executives secretly met with Tesla CEO Elon Musk to discuss a possible merger.
The San Francisco Chronicle cited an unnamed source who said Musk met with Apple's Chief of Mergers and Acquisitions and possibly CEO Tim Cook, at Apple's Cupertino headquarters last spring.
Analysts believe acquiring Tesla would give Apple better long-term potential far beyond its current gadgets.
In October, a Wall Street analyst wrote an open letter to Cook, urging Apple to acquire the electric car company.
